The Boston Public Library (BPL) was the first large free municipal library in the United States. In addition to its 8.9 million books, the library boasts a wealth of rare books and manuscripts, maps, musical scores and prints. There were over 7 million visits to the library's website last year and more than 3.5 million books and audiovisual items borrowed or downloaded.​ ​

STATE LIBRARY OF MASSACHUSETTS

This collection includes state documents that have either been digitized or created in electronic form. Documents are arranged in collections by agency name. The State Library of Massachusetts has digitized volumes of the Acts and Resolves from 1692 to 2010 and the full-text of these laws is now available for searching and viewing on this site. Links to the Session laws after 2010 can be found on the Massachusetts General Court’s website.
